So my scanner isn’t working very well. I’m doing some shading exercises but those aren’t as fun to post so here’s a fighty guy.

I went to see Batman Live! tonight so I didn’t draw anything fancy today. So here’s a crappy cartoon sketch taken on my phone wheee!

I spent some time on another portrait tonight, but I realized the hair wasn’t dark enough so I tired to fix it but it was getting out of control and so what I’m trying to say is here’s another eye.

So I attempted to do a 3/4 view of Matt Smith. It’s a little derptastic and I may have not spent as much time on the shading as I should have. It’s also the first one I’ve done in a few that wasn’t a tutorial. I’m so much better at following instructions. A friend from work gave me a big ol’ drawing pad and told me to try some charcoal drawings, so hopefully that’s what’s up next.  Source

This is probably the best thing I’ve done so far. Her face is kind of derpy and I have some weird Napoleon Dynamite shading going on with her upper lip, but it’s the first thing I’ve done so far that I don’t actively cringe at.

Well I think I learned how to make these pictures a little bit smaller. I was checking out the tutorials at Drawspace and I came across a portrait drawing lesson. Being the badass I am, I skipped over all beginner lessons and went straight for the big money. This girl’s eyes are far too large. She’s like some kind of alien beast.

So I’ve decided I’m going to focus on faces/portraits for the time being. Two reason for that. 1) Full bodies are hard to draw 2) I need a place to start. This face actually came from my own brain. It looks like some punkass teenager from the 1940’s. I don’t know why I think that, but there it is.
